Molten Gold – Luxe Laundry

Molten Gold – Luxe Laundry

My stepmom loves doing laundry.  Most of us don’t.  Part of the reason, perhaps, is that laundry rooms tend not to be very inspiring spaces.  Fortunately, they’re evolving.  New homes tend to have flex spaces that include laundry, mud rooms, pet centers, craft tables and other activities that involve messes.   It’s a trend I have written about and fully embrace.

If you’re redoing your laundry area, you might want to consider BLANCO’s new Liven Laundry Sink.  Regular Gold Notes readers know I’m a fan of the brand, and was hosted on trips to their German factories and Living Kitchen trade show booths.  Long before those two sponsored 2011 and 2013 travels, I’d stop at their trade show booths to check on what’s new, particularly in the Silgranit line. The Liven Laundry Sink is both new and made from Silgranit.

About the Liven Sink

Liven comes in eight Silgranit colors, which is great for design flexibility.  Even greater is the durability and low maintenance of this composite material.  You can throw knives at Silgranit and not damage it, though I don’t recommend knife throwing as a general rule.  The point is, it’s extremely chip- and stain-resistant.  It’s also heat resistant, so if you need to handwash something in extremely hot water, your pretty new sink will handle it just fine.

Liven is also dual-mount, so you can install it above or under the countertop.  I suggest undermount for a cleaner look and easier clean up, but if you’re replacing an existing drop-in sink in a non-reno space, top-mount will be the easier replacement.  This sink has a nice 12 inches depth, which should handle most, if not all, of your laundry and utility needs.  There’s also an optional accessory organizer you can purchase to hold small items you regularly use for chores.
